Here Comes the Hotstepper. What, you may ask, does that have to do with anything? Absolutely nothing. It's just the first group/song that came in my head this morning. I noticed that I haven't posted in approximately 37 fortnights, not gonna do the actual math, but sounds good to me. What have I been up to, since everyone's dying to know...work. And eating cheeseburgers.
Ironman Cozumel was at the end of November. Since that time, I've swum a few laps, ran around 35 miles (this includes a half marathon about 10 days ago) and have yet to put my bike back together. Working a lot and getting a little burnt out from training allowed me to gain a few pounds, which made those 35 miles running shall we say, a little more difficult. But I digress. I'm ready to get back on the (whatever it is that I need to get back on to get my butt in gear).
Dogman, dsm911 and I decided to run the half marathon for St. Paddy's weekend. Brutal. Dogman did well, dsm911 and I were glad to survive with all of our body parts. It was brutally cold and about half the race was into a 30+ mile wind. It was the least fun I've ever had exercising, and that includes the mile we had to run in high school PE.
Dogman's started training for the Okoboji Marathon yesterday. Saw his Garmin from his 7 mile run...something like 6:45-50 pace. I took a visit to the pool last night for 1500 straight. It was a little struggle. About two weeks ago I tried to do a 10 x 100 workout to see how much time I've lost swimming due to my absence. Gave myself 15 seconds rest between sets and came in right at 1:30 for the majority, a little faster for the first couple. It'll be interesting once I actually get back on the bike, which will hopefully be soon given the weather, supposed to hit 80 this week.
Since the season's starting to come into view and I think I'm over the funk I was in, I'll start to post more incredibly witty material. I may also attempt a sit-up this week.

Warrior and I were starting to get a little worried. 37 fortnights with no post is a long time....Good to hear the funk is over. Good luck with the sit-up.
Indeed, we were concerned for your well-being. Please confirm that Burrito has not fled to Mexico, in search of his ultimate namesake.
And don't worry, you have done more physical activity in the last month than I have done in almost a year.
Burrito lives! Although, I have not spent any time in Mexico, I have been enjoying plenty of meals at my favorite local Mexican place, Los Tres Amigos.
Broke out the bike for the first time this year. Not sure if that puts me ahead or behind on my training schedule. Also, it is bad when your chain falls off going up a steep hill and you can't get your feet unclipped.
