The Man of the Week

Since I've recently decided I have the greatest ideas in the history of Earth, I'm going to randomly have "The Man (or Woman) of the week.  This won't happen every week, because that would be so cliche, and the Boji Tri Team is not cliche.  But I digress.

The man of the week is Hammerhead.  Hammerhead recently got married to his beautiful bride Amy.  The celebration was great.  I also managed to somewhat ruin my political aspirations by singing, with the usher, and possibly newest member of our team, Jake (he did a couple tri's with Hammerhead and I last year), Hammerhead's brother Matt, and
brother-in-law Aaron.  Yep, we did have a great time and I was a dancing machine, or I'm telling myself that.

A little background on how Hammerhead and I became such good friends.  We started hanging out a lot our freshman year, mostly listening to really awesome music such as Shaggy and Bop Gun by Ice Cube.  I also had a master plan, which was if I was hanging out with the star football player and wrestler, we'd basically have the ladies all over us.  But then, I also started thinking, hmm, let's see, the guy with muscles everywhere and the not-so-muscular basketball/baseball player.  Who are they going to talk to?  Oh well.  Since I like to throw in pictures, here's one taken by Nacho Libre of Hammerhead getting out of the swim.  He's the second guy (as the pictures small) trying to find out where the hot sauce stand is.
Another great characteristic in a friend is they're willingness to support activities that they may not like, but you do.  Such as basketball.  One of our other buddies, Huey was with Hammerhead when we decided that we were going to go cruising and listening to more awesome music, such as Prince and Bone Thugs.  Well,  I wasn't quite done with my basketball game.  So, Huey and Hammerhead, rather than sticking around, decided to take my ride, the sweet, sweet Ford Bronco, and listen to some tunes.  Well, after a while, they came back and brought me a present, a chocolate rabbit filled with nerds.  Not quite sure yet why they did this, I happily obliged, as anyone that knows me knows that I have a sweet tooth.  Well, there's also a reason they most likely no longer make these things...oh was it bad.  Back to why they bought it for me.  I initially thought it was because they were gone for so long.  Nope, well, at least not the main reason.  They went to eat at A & W...on my dime...and felt sorry for doing that so they bought the rabbit.  Oh yeah, also on my dime!

Below is another picture of Hammerhead taken by Nacho Libre.  He's on the bike, obviously getting ready to hammer, hence the nickname.  But, he also had time to give the thumbs up.  Hopefully you can see it on the picture.
Hammerhead and I decided to be roommates at the University of Iowa.  One of our first decisions was that we weren't giving into "the Man" and we weren't gonna get cable for our dorm room.  This would be fine, because we had a dvd player and Cheech & Chong's "Up in Smoke."  We ended up watching this every day for over a month, decided it was crazy and got cable.  We did think we were awesome so.  In addition, Hammerhead's dad used to call us a 7 a.m. quite a bit.  We eventually turned off our ringer on the dorm phone, would forget that we did this, and couldn't figure out why no one was calling such awesomeness as ourselves.

Anyways, Hammerhead and I have been through a lot, had some great times and some rough ones, but the great one's have been an incredible majority.  I'm incredibly honored to have been a part of his wedding and that he found such a great girl in his wife Amy.  Hammerhead and I have an interesting next four months, as we along with Nacho Libre get ready to rock Cozumel.  I hope that some of you will be able to make it down to watch, as it should be a hell of a week.  So, to Hammerhead, thanks buddy and I look forward to continuing our path of awesomeness.  Amy, if you read this (not sure why anyone wouldn't read the greatest blog ever), but as you know, you've got an awesome husband and our team's got an awesome guy (sappy, but true).

I will now raise my venti iced coffee with non-fat milk, negated by the sweetner and my lemon pound cake, and have a drink to the "Man of the Week."  It's gonna be a great rest of the year.

Congratulations Hammerhead! Hopefully you had enough energy for your wife Saturday night, after FGLH made you his bitch that morning.

Agree on the congrat's, though I'm pretty sure I was the sorry excuse for a cyclist during the ride in the morning. I made up for it though when I waved to the nice lady gardening.
